Here we have the highly anticipated Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. This expression begins life in a similar way to the Woodford Reserve Bourbon, then it is further matured in barrels which have been heavily toasted and lightly charred. This certainly adds depth of sweet oak to the bourbon, as well as more fruit, vanilla and caramel notes.
