Elegant spice, treacle toffee, rich sherry oak – with an endlessly complex finish. Matured exclusively in hand-selected sherry casks for a character-building quarter-century. Made in the distillery’s traditional way, with the slowest distillation in Scotland and no peat used in the process.
Nose: Big notes of sherry-soaked fruit up front – raisins, figs and oranges. This is followed by wafts of toasted almonds and classic notes of old leather.
Palate: Vanilla and dark chocolate open up the palate. Sherry comes through yet again, but this time in the shape of rich, well spiced fruit cake. Hints of orange and oak round it off.
Finish: The finish lasts with notes of red fruits and cracked black pepper.

25 year old single malt from the Arran Distillery, located on the island which shares its name. Launched in 2020, the 25th year of Arran’s production, this expression was aged in a combination of 35% ex-sherry and 65% ex-bourbon casks, and it was all allowed 12 months of maturation in first-fill and refill sherry hogsheads before bottling. Here’s to a quarter of a century of top whisky from Arran, and here’s to many more!
With the last 4 years of maturation spent in a Fino cask, this whisky from Dailuaine distillery is deliciously savoury with notes of green olives, marmite, samphire.
Rarely seen as a single malt, which allows independent bottlers to present this spirit to whisky lovers, Dailuaine spirit is heavy and meaty thanks to the long fermentation period, quick distillation and the use of stainless steel in the condensers.
Based in Aberlour in Speyside, Dailuaine was once the largest distillery in the region and, although that’s no longer the case today, capacity was increased by 25% in 2012.
Nose:
Green olives, peanut butter, marmite, ripe banana, cigar box.
Flavour:
Anchovies, tobacco leaf, seaweed, samphire.
Finish:
Honey, ginger, waxy fruit.
With the last 3 years of maturation spent in a PX cask, this whisky from Ardmore is beautifully complex with notes of tobacco, raspberry jam, cardamom pods and honeycomb.
A substantial Victorian distillery, Ardmore has scale which is surprising given its gentle rural surroundings. It is also unusual due to the style of whisky it produces – a peated Highland malt.
Nose:
Cigar box, tobacco, subtle peat smoke, cayenne pepper.
Flavour:
Raspberry jam, figs, fruit jelly.
Finish:
Cardamom pods, honeycomb, crème brûlée.
