The Domaine Chanson Beaune Grèves Premier Cru 2016 is a sophisticated and expressive Pinot Noir from one of Beaune’s most esteemed Premier Cru sites. Nestled on the Mont Battois hillside, this vineyard benefits from sandy and gravelly soils, perfectly suited to produce wines of elegance, structure, and depth. The result is a refined Burgundy that captures the essence of Beaune’s terroir and the craftsmanship of Domaine Chanson.
2016 was a challenging but ultimately rewarding vintage in Burgundy. Spring frosts and cooler conditions affected yields, but a warm, sunny summer provided ideal ripening weather. The result was a vintage marked by concentration, purity of flavour, and freshness, particularly well-suited to Pinot Noir.

Crafted with care, the Grèves is made with whole-bunch fermentation, lasting around two weeks to enhance aromatic complexity and tannin structure. The wine is then aged in Chanson’s 15th-century cellar for 14 to 18 months, using a moderate amount of new oak to preserve the purity of the fruit and express the vineyard’s natural elegance. This Premier Cru Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with dishes such as roast duck, lamb, or earthy mushroom dishes. It also complements a selection of fine cheeses, enhancing the wine’s nuanced flavours and balance.
