Originally part of Diageo’s ‘Hidden Malts’ range, the Clynelish 14 Year Old is a Highland single malt with a distinct coastal influence – thanks to its location on the east coast. Unusually peaty for a mainland whisky, this sherry and bourbon cask matured spirit is wonderfully layered, composed of honeyed fruit and briney notes. Clynelish is known for its waxy and oily profile, and this is present here with a pleasantly creamy mouthfeel. A really brilliant drop, not to be overlooked.
